Well, Just to let you know, maybe a couple of years too late, I am one of those people who is looking for and has been searching for those little fake candy corns. Yes, probably hard for you to believe, but they are hard to find….at least the very real looking ones are very hard to find. Doing my search for fake candy corns is how I happened across your website… Since it’s been two years since you posted this page, maybe you don’t have any idea, but was wondering if you or your wife remembers what store or catalog you found those candycorns. Hey Geoff — I see you use Google Analytics. Have you looked at the referrers reports? For me the vast majority of traffic I get is from random searches on Google and other search engines — people searching for things like “cheap zoo passes sunnyvale” and happening to find some blog article of mine that contains all four words. So it’s not surprising those people don’t stay long or comment.

They don't plant any trees on your behalf, but the Direct Marketing Association will also remove you from its lists for a single dollar. The DMA is the group to which many, if not most, legitimate direct marketing organizations belong. They also have ways to get removed from individual mailling lists. FWIW, this offer/service has existed since the mid-eighties, at least. That's when I first heard about it, anyway.

And, your parent still has two clear red vinyl recordings as well as one black vinyl recording, all on the Fantasy label #s 7003, 7007, and 7011. They are titled: The Sick Humor of Lenny Bruce-1958, Togetherness, Lenny Bruce-1959, and, Lenny Bruce–American-1960.
Too bad I don’t have a turntable to play them on. There is a lot of classic content and cmment on these old albums.

I loved reading this Unlce G and sometimes it’s the unexpected words like this blog which seem to make a hard week worthwhile. We might not talk as often as we should, but you are right – it’s just space… no distance. You will always remain an inspiration to me no matter how much ’space’ is left. Unlce G you have made a huge imprint in this world (everyone who knows you and has the fortuante chance to meet you knows it) and my life has forever changed since you were in it! I remember sitting with you at a coffee shop in Los Gatos telling you ‘ you had to have kids’.. I knew you were meant for it- those little souls are so lucky to have you!

Sorry to hear the downtown celebration was so weak. That is a disappointment especially for the parents who are expecting a grand show for their kids. As for your reasons I think all are applicable and the point about the present administration and people feelings about the U.S. in general is probably right on. Several years ago everybody was waving this flags and all hyped up about the U.S. Now they are tired and disinterested as the war and political fighting drones on. It’s definitely a sad state of affairs.
